Which Vieja?

I bought this fish as a Vieja synspilum, but I'm having doubts after looking at some pictures. Can anyone ID my fish? The fish is 8''. Also, can anyone sex it?

why is it so ugly then? I look at other syns on here at the same size and their gorgeous.
 
Poor genes. Good diet will hopefully get it colored up. One of my Syns Is bright pink, gold, blue and green but my other one is copper colored and a light pink with red fins. Both different genes different fish.
