This may sound like an odd request, but I am looking for a job.

I am tired of Fargo ND, and am trying to plan a relocation to somewhere else. The tricky part is trying to figure out where to go...

Apart from being a fish lover, I am also a 'jack of all trades.' I went to technical college for, and worked with, neon signs. I have also done computer drafting (AutoCAD), sheet metal work, apartment maintenance(plumbing, electrical, and management), stained glass window restoration, some HVAC, and much more.

I currently work at Fargo's 'Plains Art Museum,' doing exibit lighting, construction, maintenance, and rental property management.

If you think you may be able to benefit from any of these skills, I would love to hear from you.

My girlfriend Amy (she is a blackjack dealer, as well as the best server one could ever hope to find) and I are planning to move late May to early June.

As I initially stated, I realize this is an odd place to go job hunting, but I know this is a great place to find worth-while people. That being said, this may very well be the best place to be to find a worth-while employer.

Good luck with your search. with maintnenance and HVAC backgrounds you should check with some hospitals. normally they are great employers.

I've heard this, and almost had a job with a huge retirement/assisted living home. It was down to three people, an electrician, a plumber, and this beard-o 25 year old. I guess it was an honor just to be nominated. They basically pay for any training you would like to recieve, and assume that within 3 years, you will be such a well trained maintenance machine that some other company with an even bigger wallet will snatch you away. I was pretty bummed when it didn't pan out. I suppose if it had, I'd be stuck in ND for at least another two winters. All is well that ends well, right?? (humbug!)

i would say head for vegas they will need neon signs and blackjack dealers.
Or the high desert in Reno, NV, if you like four-season climate and don't like it being over 100 degrees every day during the summer. Close to Tahoe and the Bay Area too. :)

It's funny... I posted a similar message on planetcatfish.com, and Reno came up there too. I once almost took a job doing neon in vegas, but went to buffalo NY instead. Alaska WAS my first choice, but that was partially because a lot of my friends live their, and now they are all back in the lower states. Living in AK would make it pretty tough to come home to visit the family/friends.

Reno is definately at the top of my list at this point.

Thanks to all for your suggestions!
