Well, a guy on Craigslist is selling a one year old Aquaclear 70 in great condition for $30 and I am going to try for $20-$25. Another guy is selling an AC 110 with nothing but the case, filter basket, and motor (pretty much everything I know), he is also asking $20 for it. Anyways, I have one AC 110 on my 75g right now, but I figured why not go overkill on filtration? Do you think my 110 with a 70 would be good, or would you get the 110 and buy the media? I'm unsure of the condition on the 110 and the guy is VERY flaky, claims it works, but he gets back to me every once in a blue moon. Sorry to ramble on, just want to know if I should get the for sure deal on the 70 or tough it out and try to get the 110.

Thanks!

no such thing as over filtration lol. Go for the 110 first, if he flakes buy the 70.

At some point overfiltration becomes a waste of electricity...

But two AC 110s on a 75 gal is not wasting electricity at all. This is what I use on my 75 gal tanks...

The AC 110 is HUGE compared to the AC 70... I wouldn't spend money on the AC 70... I love my AC 110s...

Get the Ac101

An AC 110 for $20. I would take everyone I could get. Leave the powerhead and use the money for the media. New media will run you about $25..

Regular price of Ac101 retails for $59-79....Prices at regular shops can reach $120.......

Yeah I think I will go with the AC110 afterall. I am meeting up with the guy at a Fred Meyer so I don't know if I'll have anywhere to test it out, but we'll see how it all goes. Do you think I need the ceramic media if I already have it in my other 110? I figured a sponge filter and carbon would be enough, but I don't wanna just cheap out if that's a bad idea. Thanks for all the input, guys!
