Today at my LFS I saw a whip tail stingray for sale. I was wondering if these types of stingrays are all freshwater or eventually marine?
PS: this is the only ray I can find in CA

It is definitely a saltwater ray, if it is sold by a reputable fish store in Cali.

where is LFS, and if you are looking for a sting ray in california, i recomend Kind Aquarium in San Jose ,off Story Road. ask the manager and tell him who much are you willing to spend

Did you see it at Tong's? If so, I talked to one of the guys there, its a brackish water species.
