I will be setting up a 120g (48x24x24) system soon: lightly planted, sandbed, driftwood, with a pair of P. Synspilus as the centerpiece of the tank. I am looking for a catfish for the tank but I don't have room for a RTC or TSN. I have no interest in synodontis catfish or the like. What I would really love to find is a large whiskered catfish that can live comfortably in a 120g throughout it's life but I don't know if there are any. Can anyone suggest some suitable catfish for my system?

Thanks!

Don't know what you could keep with a pair of cichlids in a 120 long term. But long whiskers. Ornate pims or blochii

The Pimelodus family is a good place to look. I had a pictus cat a long time ago in my old tank. Even though the tank was small, he lasted years.

Are the syns paired up yet ? Im trying the same but with heterospilus which are very mild mannered vieja. The syns might claim the whole 120 so keep an eye out
