I got this pump like 6 months ago when I started back up in the hobby of aquaria.
After a month of having it, the water curtain stopped producing bubbles and the lfs told me that maybe it was mineral deposits that were clogging it up.
So I am at home sitting there like an idiot scraping and poking mini holes into the curtain and seeing no results.
Finally, I googled my problem and found some answers, I read that the diaphragm tends to get messed up and then needs to be replaced or repaired.
Not only did I discover that! But I found some reviews on other web sites of very angry customers who also complained stating that shortly after they purchased the Whisper Air pump 100 they too lost air pressure and needed a new diaphragm.
It sounds to me like Whisper makes BS products.
After careful review of the situation I have decided that I am going to purchase a "Rena 400 Air pump". The reviews I read over the internet by fellow consumers was that it tends to last a very long time and on top of that, if it does get messed up, API sells the repair kit with the necessary things to repair it at home and get it back up and running.
In any case let me know if there are other fellow angry consumers out there that wasted a lot of money buying garbage air pumps like the Whisper.
