Hi, I am using two Whisper filters at the moment, Could I take out either the bio part or the the filter pad it self, when the filter is turned up all the way the water will flow over filter and makes a lot of noise as the water fits the tank water.

If you took stuff out of the filter it would pretty much defeat the purpose of having it in the first place. How high is you water level in your tank?

Maybe you just need to clean the filter media. In HOB filters when the fitter cartridges get clogged the water will flow over it causing excessive noise.

this^

and maybe raise the lvl of your tank water till it touches the water outlet of the filter.

i have 4 running in my room...this is what i do to keep them quiet.

I have the water level as hi as it will go in the tank, I change the filter media reg, it pretty much dows this right away, I tank is clean, I was just wondering if I could take out either or. Does the bio mesh do that much?

If you took out the filter pad and that was all you had in it for bio you would be removing half your bio load and go into a mini cycle. Plus if you removed it and that was all you had in it it wouldnt trap anything it would just be cycling water. Maybe its time to replace it. They filter that is.

Sounds like the media is clogged to me, otherwise you should get pretty much complete flow through. Having said that I don't own this brand of filter so I don;t know how its designed to function.

It happens a few days after changeing the filter media.
