there seems to be some white pronged algae stuff growing in my tank on front glass.... with the Clownknife and mates.. what is it from ?? did a 30% water change prior. it sprung up fast! what is it ?

Its algae like you say, I get this sometimes. You got any plants? Sometimes there is jsut extra nutrients in the water and then the algae grows. Scrub it all off and do a water change.
yea i have a bunch of plants... what makes the white stuff appear? ill try get it off and see if it grows back ...a wC if it does.. could it be from lack of co2??

Im not a real expert on this, but I dont think algae does anything. Soem say it is there to tell you that your tank needs maintenance. Theres always nutrients in the water and combined with the lights algae grows. The plants should take away nutrients from the algae to starve it.
What I did, I put a few fast growing plants in the tank so it can steal the nutrients form the algae. I manually scrubbed out as much algae as I could, then I even bought a pleco to help manage it if some comes back. Thats all you really need to do is jsut clean it off and do water changes like usual. As long as you maintain a good tank the algae wont thrive.

will do thanks for the feedback . glad its not harmfuol to the fish is all will see how it goes cleaning it asap.
Yeah, all you need to do is remove it and you'll be fine. Regular water changes and cleaning around in your tank will take care of it. After an initial cleaning/removal, the algae should pretty much be under control, especially with your plants in there sucking up the nutrients that the algae needs. Even an algae eating fish helps kep it under control.

Have you medicated the tank in the past month? I know I get that sometimes using Melafix. Nothing that bad, just wipe it off.
wiped it off this morning =) now to get a some ottos to clear the rest i cant see. thanks for the replys all!
and no .. never used chemical before to medicate . always use salt and temp tricks.....
but i did do a wc so i thought it was cuz of that ... lol..
