Water parameters look normal on API test kit. Water temp is 79 degrees. No recent changes besides a new piece of wood that I have been soaking for a week. Also boiled it. It doesn't seem to look like ick more like fungus on my google searches. Did a 50 percent water change 2 days ago did not notice these spots. Could this be from the new piece of wood or did he rub into it maybe? Tank has guppy grass, and pothos with a few moss balls, those items have been in it for 6 months at least.

I added some pond salt and have temperature the same at the moment.

Looks like he tried digging underneath the wood and scraped his head. I also see some white specks on him that look like it could maybe be ich or just debris on his skin I can’t tell by the picture

When I got home today I noticed there was a white/clear slime all around the new wood. After googling for a while it sounds like it is still expelling fungus so I bet he rubbed that onto him too. I took the log out and will continue soaking for a few more weeks. Thank you for your help

That fungus is just biofilm, it grows and dies on its own after a while and won’t hurt the fish whatsoever, some will even eat it along with shrimps.
