Hey everyone, quick question here:

So I bought some neon tetra and a rainbow shark from petsmart the other day (I know, terrible idea, but it was impulse).

After a few hours in my tank, I noticed one of the neons was breathing rapidly and had trouble schooling with the others. I pulled it out of the tank and placed it in a 10 gallon quarantine tank. I went to bed and it was dead the next morning. The next day, another one of the neons was acting weird, and had trouble swimming, but it also had a bit of a white bump on top of its head. I took it out, and it just died a few hours ago after spending 2 days in the quarantine tank. Yesterday, I looked at my tank, and saw one of the neons had died, even though an hour before it looked fine.

Now I've noticed one of the neons I have left has the white bump on its head too, and is acting a bit strange. I feel like this is all a fungal infection they had from petsmart (especially because the rainbow shark has some white patches on it), and I am going to start treatment for that tomorrow, but this white bump on the head is giving me pause.

Its happened on 2 of the 4 tetra now, in the same exact spot, like right above where the brain is. Is this not surprising with a fungal infection? Or could this actually be something else?

Thanks.

If possible if another Neon is affected post a pic so it would be easier for a member to help you analyze what it may be.
Sounds bacterial but not sure.

I'm trying to, but the one last night I noticed was acting weird and had the white bump is having trouble swimming now, darting all over the place and not being able to stay upright. One of the other neons that died had the same problem.

Its near impossible for me to get a picture of it right now
