I picked up a "wild caught" Salvini 1/1/13

I had been looking to pick up a Sal for a while now and when. I saw him at adult-ish size with space in my quarantine and my display, I jumped on the buy. He was a bit beat up when I got him but I figured with the regimen I was planning for him in quarantine that a scrape or two was no biggie.

Here is my current question/problem:

The spots/bumps at the base of his dorsal fin are starting to bug me, now that he has gone through quarantine (1 week pimafix/melafix, 1 week Epsom salt treatment, 2 weeks at 1tsp per gallon cichlid salt at 86F.) and is now in the display after a weekend of musical tanks. .

I have seen bumps like this before; my Parrot, which also happens to be wild caught has had them since the day I got him:

They're hardly evident in the picture above but honestly I never notice them much anyways.

I put the Parrot through a strenuous quarantine and even tried to physically remove his bumps. This entire process took 3 months and proved to provide no improvement whatsoever. Abe now lives happily in my large community and shows no other signs of sickness or any other problems.

So am I freaking out now with my Sal? Is he ok for the big tank, or do I need to take him back up to the lfs? I am not interested in spending months and months trying to heal this fish up if he has and major problems; If that's the case then I will grow some healthy ones out.

Sorry for the rant...

Anyone have any opinions?

I've had lots of wild cought fish with these, I've heard they are an indirect parasite where the fish is an intermediate host, the parasite does not develope until the fish is eaten by a bird or some other final host. They will remain in-cysted until it reaches the final host which it never will in your aquarium so they never develope into anything.

Good info Aqua and thanks to you both for the responses.

I decided this morning I wasn't going to let it bother me so I took the Sal back up to the lfs. The owner gave me a full refund which I used to pick up 2 more Red humps (steindachneri).
