i just bought a white calvus today its barely a inch. hes in a holding tank for now but im gonna set up a 55 soon. whats some good tank mates for him ? i know im gonna get about 3 more calvus

I have cyps with mine...of the blue flash variety. They do very well with cyps, makes them less shy, and cyps tend to occupy the top half of the tank, where as calvus tend to stay at the bottom of the tank...so it fills out the tank nicely so to speak.

that sounds pretty good, think shell dwellers would be ok ?

Well I never had an interest in mixing the two, but I know people that have, and it seems to work.

These little guys usually keep to themselves. The cyprichromis will do great and I think you will find that the variety of colors they come in should make them an appealing option. Perhaps you could keep some julidichromis with them... or brichardi?

i was thinking julidichromis i have a pair of brichardis and they are little rascals haha

lol yes brichardi can be a bit pushy. but the clavus have some great tend to cohabitate with them nicely. I think juli’s and cyprichromis would do great though and offer you a great array of colors. If you ever decide to upgrade from a 55 to a larger tank frontosa offer amazing compatibility options with calvus.

i have him alone in a 55 gal im considering just making it 2 male white calvus and about 6 females ? a breeding tank haha
