White Crayfish - Matching Gravel color

Hello,

I have a white crayfish and I have kept him in a tank with sand brown colored gravels at the bottom. His color has changed overtime and it looks sandy in color and looks like a kid played in the mud and slush for long hours (he is very clean actually as I always keep the tank clean)as I guess it has something to do with its camouflaged nature. Can anyone tell me what would be the ideal color to bring out the best color of my crayfish? I know white gravels could be the best possible option taking his camouflaged nature into consideration, but it may not make him too obvious in the tank, if you know what I mean.

I got one more question which may not be related to loaches but about crayfish.

Can you tell me what would be the ideal color gravel to bring back the original white color of my crayfish? I know white gravels could be the best possible option taking his camouflaged nature into consideration, but it may not make him too obvious in the tank, if you know what I mean.
