My little dovii was a normal colored dovii 2 months ago. Then it turned orange, now it's white. I think it's kinda cool this way. Anyone know if it's just a phase or an actual color morph? Or some kind of unholy abomination I should never speak of...because the internet has very little mention of white dovii.

Pretty sure that’s a red dovii, and a pale one at that.
Just a morph of the dovii to have the fader gene, one of my favorite cichlids for the red it will get.

You got yourself a young red dovii. It will change colors as it grows. Might be white or pink now but as it gets larger it will start to turn orange and start having red spots. Usually more reds spots for males than females.

The red ones are born blue and morph later? I thought the red morph was born red. It's parents were blue, so I never imagined I'd actually get a red.

Most would start blue and then peel as they grow but some fry will peel right at the 1/2 to 1 inch mark.
