My convicts just had their second spawning and many of the eggs are white....are they infertile? If so, I want to take the eggs out so they will stop fighting. Please help....

I'm not sure, but if you want to stop the fighting, remove all the eggs and put them in a nice teng with airstone to serve as a tumbler, and add some fungicide in case the eggs are infertile. When my cons spawn, I usually just let nature take its course....it's very violent course. But thigns usually turn out okay. What size is your tank?

The parents should eat any infertile eggs, for the fighting part, convics usualy fight for the right to be parrents over the fry, some times the female will guard and the male will watch the fry

how big are they?

Usually if the eggs start turning white its fungus, either theyre infertile or not being cared for properly.take them out,if you want try adding some methylyne blue to the water to help kill fungus next time

White eggs are usually infertile.

:iagree: and the parents should take care of them. you shouldn't have to do anything until it comes time to remove some of the fry when the parents are ready to spawn again.
