They are not a good sign, is it stringy?
What is their diet, approximate size and amount you feed?

nls... not a lot... typically once a day sometimes twice a day... its white/clear looks stringy but its not long... he's been sick since last sunday and just now finally started showing signs besides not eating and being lazy

i been treating with salt baths and metro baths.... he seemed to be getting better but today he seems to be worse ... i just saw him on top in corner so i quarantined him... i have airpump and heater coming tom but i might not have that much time so i got him in a tank and i'll monitor temperature on my own i guess

Have you tried the anti internal parisite food? It sounds like you have a good hand and knowledge about how to deal with this. Best of luck to you and to keep the water temp up just keep changing the water with warmer water.

does the white feces usually acompany bloat? and could it take a week of not eating till the signs of bloating appear?

i thought it was a parasite but now since his belly looks fat im thinking maybe it's bloat

It's bloat.
Get him out and in a hospital tank.
My red empress just got over bloat, glad I caught it early.
And it seems as if you have caught it early as well.

Treat with some salt, water temp. 83-84.
I used Maracyn-two and it worked like a charm (7 day period).

That food is no good, why not soak regular pellets (NLS) in a drop of water with a metronidazole pill?

x2 ..it's bloat.

You never mentioned the specie.

Mine had the same thing. Treated it with parasite clear tabs made by jungle and perma gaurd. It was gone in about a week. The fish were eating in a few days after permaguard was started. If that doesn't work use clout, but be very careful, It is strong.

I have the exact same problem with my EBJD.. his color turned very dark and poop was transparent white...

I used Garlic Guard and soak it with antiparasite food... i find that fish actually dont eat them because antiparasite food smell diff from regular pellet...

But soaking it with garlic guard helps.. I got mine on amazon.. came down to $15 with shipping... for a 8.5oz bottle... i did it for a period of two weeks.. and my ebjd is eating again.. (Before he didnt eat for a long time)

AND recently his poop color is somewhat dark... i think its working.. but i'll continue to feed him the medication until he's back to normal..

But do try garlic guard or garlic juice.. heard that works too...
