i posted in the breeding section but in case you didnt see it. my question is white fertilized eggs for red belly piranhas. they are suppose to be orange/brown. i have had a few spawnings all white. thought they were not fertilized until my last spawning hatched..... any answers???

That's weird, I always thought that it was white=dead and yellow/brown= alive.
Interested to see an answer to this question.

i woke up this morning and BAM two more clutches. here are some pics, they seem to be more yellow/ brown

here are the two clutches.jpg

How many adults do you have in there?

How come the knowledgeable P keepers haven't weighted in on this thread?

i have 15 adults. the eggs seem to be becoming more of the natural fertilized egg color the more times they spawn.

so if i understand this right, you are saying that all of the eggs from the spawn were white and they went right from white to free swimming?

the white eggs you see here hatched in two days

and you're sure you didn't take the picture after the female had laid them but before the male had fertilized them?

no, i moved them into a hatching tank right after this pic was taken.
