you need to change your media...yuck.lol
is that your chemical filtration??? aquaclear correct?

i kno its sad...there very lame they suck in the bad way.. so its the bio media crumbling O_O thats kinda gross.. if thats all it is i'll go get new stuff tomorrow?

No its not crumbling media. And aquacear filters IMO are the best HOB filters avaliable and the only ones I will run on my tanks. However if you dont know how to use them they may seem to suck. I dont know exactly what it is but you should check and post your water parameters. Is that chem or is it bio? crushed coral? If thats the chem bag you should just throw it out and replace it with bio and see if that helps. I know if you leave the chem for more than a month the carbon can start to produce toxins so that could be your problem.

Make sure you rinse the shrimp properly and that they do not sit in your tank for extended periods of time decomposing. It is likely due to surfactant nutrients or proteins from your feeding regimen.

i never let food sit there YUCK i did that once & only once!! like 5 months ago i fed my p's beef heart i pulled it out like 4 days later they never ate it.. i don think they even like it... was soo sour i almost puked... and it was on my hand O_O!!!

I have read up alot on this "wives tale". I don't personally believe it to be true along with numerous others in the hobby. It is probably one of the most debated subjects in the fish keeping hobby.

I believe, along with many others that it stops absorbing after short periods and then is nothing more or less more biomedia.

I personally don't use carbon but when I did yrs ago (20 or so yrs ago) I used to keep it in for a long long time and never had any ill effects.
