But over the few weeks i noticed some wierd White cotton like film on my plants? Particularly my Amazon Sword....

1 thing is I do not know if My amazon sword is a low light plant. some said they were some said they werent. it depended on the type apparently which i dont know what kind it is! It be great if i can get some tips. thank you!

also any tips on caring for amazon swords without ahving a C02 system or any type or large money spending would be great. thanks!

Could be algae could be bb, how longs ur tank been set up? If u have high nitrates that may explain it, or if ur tank is finished cycling bb will grow on almost everything. More bio media for bb to grow on and more wc will solve either problem.

Amazon's will tolerate almost any condition provided they are getting nutrients. Not sure what it could be. Sounds like a fungus. Just wipe it off, and A light current would help keep it from returning.
And you can't go wrong with trumpet snails. My swords get anywhere from 6 to 10 hours of light daily, sometimes none. They are doing exceptionally well though.

unfortunately trumpet snails would be worthless for me to get... All the fish i have in that tank will definitely eat the trumpet snail....

Bb is beneficial bacteria which converts amm/nitrite to only nitrates which r removed thru water changes. Imo u need ceramic bio

ah ic. hmm... thank you again! i will see what i can do...unfortunately its a overflow.... so it isnt a sump...

Regardless just add ceramic media and ur colony will have a home instead of ur plants !
