In the area of the sump my pump is located in Ive noticed white foam on the surface of the water.

Is this ok?

I'm running a fresh water setup.

This is my first wet/dry setup so I'm unsure of this condition =O

im not sure about foam but all the film from the top of the water usually ends up there. i would just net it all out in the next water change

i get the oily looking stuff in the third chamber of my sump (its like this oil on the surface of the water) i jsut net it out with a net or cup

I have a freshwater tank. I recently setup a wet/dry filtration system for it. In the last chamber of the sump where the pump is I've noticed white foam on the surface of the water. Any insight on what is causing this, or more importantly is it ok?

what are you feeding your fish? is it fish?

I feed a mixture of hikari frozen blood worms, hikari jumbo mysis shrimp, hikari frozen silvers, and hikari dry foods as well

I get a flim in my sump as well. I've thought about using some sort of surface skimmer.
