Just finished my fishless cycle on a 125g tank. Have an fx5 for filtration, PFS for substrate. Have biomax, polishing pads and purigen in fx5 trays. Could this fog be from me putting to much purigen in my fx5? Put a big net bag in there. Water parameters are all good. 8ph, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10ppm nitrates. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

Will

You describe it as a, "White fog." Are you referring to white, cloudy water? It might be the Purigen. Pehaps you need to add a goldfish or two and see if that will clear it up.

Yes white cloudy water, couldn't tell how much purigen I should put in.

So this cloud will go away in due time?

Try placing some goldfish or some other fish that you're not concerned about, in the tank. I'm under the impression that this is a newly established tank that has no fish.

how long has the tank been set up?

Tanks been setup for 6 weeks. Water used to be tea colored due to driftwood. I put purigen in and it cleaned all the brown out, now the water is clear but it's got a whiteness to it. Is there a such thing as to much purigen?

i have a 130gallon tank and it is 3 weeks old, i have cloudy water. and i also have an fx5. my believe is just the bacteria is in the early stages of growth and might need more bio in my filter and less mech filt.
