white fuzz on driftwood

hey guys i just put some driftwood into my tank, and i just noticed some white fuzz growing on it. i read that its harmless, but the reason im worried is because my fish just came down with a fungus. im currently treating the tank. should i remove the driftwood? im scared that it could be the reason why my fish has a fungus. btw i boiled the driftwood for probably a good hour at least, maybe more. i have it in there for my pleco, and it would be a shame if i would have to remove the wood as my pleco enjoys it.

the white fuzz on the DW should disappear in time, i had it on some of my DW for about give or take month, but then it just vanished... if you want you can manually remove it quite easily just by rubbing it...

White fuzz is normal and some fish even eat it. Not sure what the white fuzz actually is though.

ok but is it causing the fungus that is on my fish though???

Are you sure it is a fungus infection? Fungus infections are rare. What are the symptoms, got a pic?

no pics but the fish has white streaks on his side and i caught him scratching on the rocks.

My first assumptions from what you've described though, would be a bacterial infection or parasite.

I'd rather you get some pics up for diagnosis before doing anything. Any new fish to the tank lately? Big water changes?
