I've noticed some white fuzz on my piece of driftwood....is this bacteria? Its not everywhere, but only in a few spots....I haven't had any fish in my tank yet so I don't know what it is. I took out my bubble bar yesterday and I felt some slime on the air hose tubing and saw the white fuzz drop off from the air tube back into the water....I think that's where it came from...any ideas guys?

Thanks

Brian

Hmmm, did the fish eat it? Or did it stay there forever? Would a pleco eat this stuff off my wood?

we had that at work in a our planted tank. its like cotton wool. we found that some fish would eat some of it, especially Sucking Loach!! never seem to affect the fish at all.

hmm, I may have to pick up a sucking loach!! who wants to sell one :p

I've heard that its some type of fungus...I'm wondering if I dump in my pack of bio-spira, if that would kill off the fungus.
