Recently did a 30% WC on 80 gallon aquraium, then added 5-7 tbsp of aquarium salt. Woke up to find white hairy/spike kinda stuff all over the walls of the aquarium, filter, heater. The water itself has turned cloudy, m not sure what caused. it currently houses my flowerhorn and its barebottom.:irked:

Any advice is suggested.

Thanks in advance :)

Did the water test, readings were fine.
Its been more than 24hrs now, the cloudiness in water seems to have gone. However still see these white growth on the glass.

It may sound stupid, but is there any way that you could have added sugar instead of salt? Because what you describe exactly happens when you add sugar. The two can be mistaken for each other, you know:)

(in my case it came from a drug in syrup form that I really had to use, just did't think a small amount of sugar would cause a big bacterial bloom)
