To make a long story short, my male sen seems to be rather amorous (Or just nasty) and has taken the occasional snap at the female. The caudal fin is a bit tattered, but otherwise no damage is done. However, this turned up today. Fungus?

Looks like the start of it. Can u get some anti fugals in South Africa?

I dont think its fungus, if its getting worst then maybe it is, i had some like that when i have my LJ and it goes away by itself. How long did it have it?

Could also be the bony rays of the tail poking through after getting chomped on

You might consider separating them if it continues

Looks like a little fin nip, with a fungus attached to the dead tissue. Usually don't need meds for that situation. Heals on its own with the help of clean water.
