theres a white growth on my plants stalks.does anyone know what this is?they are also starting to wither and i have a few brown leaves.never had much luck with plants so i am not sure why its doing this.i leave the lights on for at least 8 hours a day.......

White growth could be fungus or molds. Pics?

IT LOOKS MORE LIKE A FUNGUS-sorry for yelling lol.should i just take the plants outta the tank?will it harm my fish?sorry for the delay Lupin-was doing water changes and cleaning my crappy filter.(dont buy Rena)

I don't think it'll harm the fish. I'd just clean it out. What water conditioner do you use? Did you use it excessively?

no i actually just bought these about 2 weeks ago.i have em in a tank with a convict pair and their fry.

i just tried to "wipe it off"and it basically just fell apart in my hands.i think the inside of the stalk was rotten or something?i picked off all the withered stuff and white stuff so i guess it will go away now.

Post a pic of the plant. It could be false aquatic.

it says,"aquatic Combo"
Dracaena
Spathiphyllum
Ophiopogon
Trichomanes
Syngonium

From pics on google it appears to be Dracaena.I looked up a few of these on line-they are tropical plants but doesnt say anything about aquatic plants at all.I think you may be right-these are FAKE aquatic plants. All the pics say they are supposed to be in a potted plant with soil
