when i got home this evening i turned on my tank lights and i noticed this white micro worms about 1cm or less in my tank.. it was everywhere, they were in the glass, free-swimming in some kid of slime.. my tank is crystal clear.. i have double filtration one is biological and the other is a canister filter.. I have a blue light that is why maybe they are easier to be seen than with a normal daylight flourescent.. What are this worms?? are they harmful to my fish?? thanks guys..:)

they are most likely planeria. they are harmless and just feed on junk in u'r tank. they aren't parasitic or anything and nothing to worry about

I skiped past this thread a while back then tonight i just noticed little white worms on my glass where do the come from

they live in the substrate or filter, basically anywhere they can. they rapidly multiply when there is excess food in the tank. do a good gravel vac, wipe down the glass, a w/c, and feed a little less and youll never see em. but they can still see you:WHOA:

i only ever see mine when i stir up the gravel. no biggie though. if anything they're helping keep the junk in check in their own small way
