I have a 240 gallon on a drip system so my water changes are when the nitrates get above 10 or 20 so every 3 months or so. Anyways I did a water change the other day and the next day my glass had a white substance that is fairly hard to remove. I didn't change or mess with any filters so I should have plenty of bb in the sump. I have about 10 pounds of lava rock and a marine pure block in my sump. I did change the filter socks but i do that once a week or less. I didn't check the water parameters yet. The rays act fine and eat like everything is normal... Anybody know what the heck this white crap is? Thanks

Do you have hard water? Did you notice air bubbles stuck to the glass?
The only time I've had white stuff that took some scrubbing to get off is when air bubbles are left behind and that caused hardwater spots to form.

The air bubbles go away shortly after refilling the tank. But if they sit on the glass long enough they leave the hard water spots. This can be avoided by running a cleaning magnet or whatever else you use for cleaning the glass:)
Also keepin the glass wet while doing a water change helps avoid buildup from forming. It seems to happen crazy fast. Lol
