i just noticed today that my glass needs a bit of a clean on the inside , on close inspection i can see loads of microscopic white organisms slowly moving around on the glass, water tests near perfect for ammonia nitrate nirite ph is 6.8 ,
i thought i would check if this is good bacteria or bad bacteria ,,

fish are well and swimming around as normal ,

any info on this?? jason

they are more like short white things rather than a long worm type but very very tiny (reminds me of flour fleas) ,, i feed the fish what they will eat , i drop a frozen bloodworm cube in the morning and a pinch of catfish pellets , then in the eve i drop a cube of krill and a pinch of catfish pellets , i could just feed in the eve and leave the morning feed out if that is what is causing it ,

or if its not harmful then could i carry on as i am ,, ?

If your tank walls are getting ugly

1 stop feeding
2 clean your tank walls thoughly and filter
3 dont feed that tank for at least a week and they should starve and die off
i will put this into effect straight away , its not a major infestation , you have to really look to see it , so if its to do with food then it should clear soon , i have 800 litre tank with a eheim pro 3 2080 ,

i just found another fish keeper with the same
http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225744

and as my water is showing no ammonia etc i will put it down to the food ,, i have been feeding bloodworm and i think some may be getting sucked into the filter and this causes it to be unavailable to the fish so it would probly rot etc , i will cut out food for a while and in future look at feeding something that i can remove if it dont get eaten , rather than the filter removing it,,

it's just uneaten food. wipe the inside walls and do as big of a gravel cleaning and WC as you can. I clean after each feeding to prevent this, it only takes about 2 gallons with a smaller sized siphon.

These do sound like planaria, which are a harmless type of flatworm. An epidemic of them usually indicates too much organic matter in the aquarium, either from inadequate cleaning or overfeeding. If you want to cut down on feeding though, I wouldn't recommend cutting out any actual meals (this is too hard on the fish) just cutting down on the amount of food you give each time.
