Tank has an ebjd, 6 Corys and has started to get these particles that look really nasty especially against my black background. Hair algae has also started to become an issue recently.
(Definitely not tiny air bubbles like I have been told as they get caught in the java moss)
Any ideas how to tackle this problem would be much appreciated thanks

Maybe planaria or worms. If not already doing it but reduce feedings. Clean up any left over food or waste.

Add poret foam to ur filter. Should help to get it reduced and filter it out.

More info is needed to answer that question, like, what size tank?
How often are you doing partial water changes?
How much water are you changing with each change?
What are you feeding , how often, and how much?
What duration are your lights on?
What is the tanks nitrate level in ppm?
What type filtration?

Yea, I agree with the above. It could be almost anything from food particles, sand, dust, calcium deposits, organisms, etc.

It would be helpful to also remove some particles and examine them while also examining the tank hood and waterline to try and determine if those show the same things, just dried on.

30 gallon tank, 50% water changes weekly.
I feed aqua one discus granuals, just a pinch and a few sinking pellets for the corys daily.
Lights are on 10 hours a day and nitrates are between 5 and 10 ppm
I use a fluval 208 canister and will invest in some of that poret foam for it
