Ive had this guy for a couple of years. Hes extremely nocturnal i never see him, he spends most of his time under the dw. The other day i noticed these two white patches on his right side.

At first i figured it was just an abrasion from rubbing against the dw.

Wanted to make sure it wasnt anything else. What do you guys think.

I've never seen that before...it looks more like abrasion, rather than fungus to me; have you checked he isn't hiding against the heater and burning himself?

No way to tell if hes doing it at night...i doubt it though he never leaves his spot under the drift wood

I guess it could be but during the day and most of the night hes wedged under a peice of dw. Probably only active for a jandful of hours at nigjt and i would assume his scavenging the tank at that time. As long as you guys font think its something to be concerned over.
Been worried about his nutrition i habe no odea what hes eating

I would be concerned over any abnormal developments, including this one. Just a catch 22 given he'll be active when its pitch black, unless you could get a weak moon lamp perhaps...

Got a good look at him last night and it looks like it isnt getting better if not worse. There a plco in there (l200) could it be sucking the slime coat off like they can with polys ?

you could try removing the pleco to a different tank and see if it makes a difference, now that you mention it though that is a very likely candidate for the damage; is the l200 noticeably aggressive to other bottom dwellers?

Not really but they do share the same spot inder the dw. In the middle of moving but once i get settled im gonna put the raph in a spare 20 i have
