My Armatus has a white pimple or thorn sticking out of his gill on the right side... anyone know what it could be? Parasit maybe:cry:?

I noticed a week ago there was a white worm (super small) crawling on the floor of the grow out tank... I took it out and tossed in outside.
Dont know how else to describe it except by a white bloodworm about 1/8" long. I didnt think anything of it till now... was that a parasite?
Does it sound like thats what my Armatus has?

Thanks

Okay, can I get some names of parasites that look like white worms??

sounds like its prazi time for your armatus.

They are all wild caught so its very very possible that most of the new armatus came in with a larger parasite load.

Ive got no clue wha Planeria is?

Hes been in a Prazi bath for 3 weeks...

Im thinking of just pulling it out and see what happends. If He died im not sure if Id buy another one as I just lost 3 Leichardtis and im not feeling the high dollar fish right now... not to mention 1 of 5 Armatus I bought checked out too.

I dont know what to think of it. It dont look norma but dont look like no parasite. Ill try to get one of my BSlr pics up tomorrow Lol

planeria is a harmless little white worm which spreads throughout your glass and substrate when there is excess food, totally harmless as far as i know.
add salt, high temp, and hope for the best.

If it looks like a white thorn protruding from the gill or a pimple anchored on or around the gill plate with a white pointy tail it's probably a fluke. Not sure if prazziquantel kills flukes as it's common use is for internals not externals. I've had w/c fish with this before API General cure is supposed to kill it if your skittish about heavy metals. I know first hand Mardel cletteed cooper safe will kill it and will not hurt burn Payara takes about 2-3 weeks to dissappear.

Nope, not that. I think there is another parasite that has that description called springtails... I think those are harmless aswell.

It looks like a half a worm sticking out but motionless. It is a milk white color

As for that little thin worm I seen in the tank, any ideas on what it could have been? It was moving across the bottom like a slug does and was also a milk white but you had to realy focus on the worm to see it... with the white thing on my Armatus, you dont have to focus that much... its visible.

if hes eating fine it shouldnt be too big a problem.
its always the case with hydrolycus, unless its a huge problem theyll continue eating fine.
springtails?found in aquariums?
i find springtails in tarantula cages bro.
