I was walking around my lfs the other day and I saw a Piranha labeled "white piranha it looks almost like a black but a little different. Is it just a subspecies of the black or somthing complety different?

it was 70$ and around 7 inches. Good price or no?

places who dont know nothing like monster pets will label them that they are black rhom's, and that sounds cool for that size, but why buy a fish when the owners dont have a clue, thats the worst

I would say that the price is good. My lfs was selling a 2 inch white piranha for $35.

they should be the same thing, juvy black piranha sometimes called white piranha.
also in some area (whitewater) the color of the fish get washed out so it can blend into the surrounding better for protection and for hunting prey.
should be S. Rhombeus...those common names just a sales pitch.

From what Ive read on here it seems a good price, My area is lower, but I guess it just depends. There is a 7" sanchezi here for 35 bucks. Its been at the store for months. Im tempted to through a divider in my 55 and get it. There would be some nasty face offs I beet:) 6 inch rhom, 7 inch sanchezi staring at each other thru the divider......
