White poop from a Green Texas cichlid

IMG_1791.JPG I just got a new pair of Green Texas and one of them is beaten up and skinny he has this thick white poop and a little bit of a sunken belly. I've read forums and sites about poop being white and most say it could be bacterial, parasitic, or even stress and they aren't too clear on the diffrences. Any help is greatly appriciated thank you! To rule out stress, move it to a separate cycled tank, and feed it something like NLS algaemax or NLS thera A, about 1mm in size. Make sure there are decorations for hiding. Give it 3 weeks and see if the poop is still white. Hopefully it will eat in a week.
 
Okay thank you I have moved it to its own tank with no light and a few hides. What does NLS Thera A have in it that should help? Thank you for the help!
 
Would doseing the tank with garlic help any? It hasn't been eating any I dropped a worm just to see if I could tempt it too and he just ignored it, what meds would be recommended?

Garlic needs to be eaten.

Was it a bloodworm or earthworm, etc? Frozen, live?
 
Are your fish eating? If so I would try feeding NLS Hex-Shield, it is first on the list for medicated feeds and intestinal issues such as your fish is exhibiting. I would feed it to both fish, as at this point you have to assume that both fish are now carrying whatever is causing this in the one showing the symptoms. (quite possibly Spironucleus vortens) Hex-Shield contains Metronidazole, Magnesium Sulphate, and a mega dose of garlic. Good luck.
 
Okay. It was an earthworm. One fish will not eat anything, I put him into a isolated tank from the other one just incase only one had something. Is their a way to try and get him to eat or do I pretty much just have to wait it out? The other one which I'm fairly certain is female is doing fine and eats plenty, she acts normal and looks normal too.
