Hey guys I have about a 9 inch male trimac by himself in a 75 gal. The water is normal no nitrates, good ph, but underneath him exactly where he poops from it looks like that area is puffy. It looks enlarged and is a white color. He can still poop because i see small bits a pieces coming out every once in a while.

What what do you think it is? is he constipated? Is he just in the mood to mate? It definitley looks like its his anus. Could he have an internal infection?

He is acting normally, colors still look good, still mean as ever. Just let me know!

I can't tell from the pictures but are you sure it's not a female dropping her egg tube? Better pics of the underside would help.

Nope he's a he, Jeff Rapps guarantee. And I would get more pictures of the underside but when I bring the camera closer he tries to bite it so I cant get a picture that way and when hes sitting still his bottom fins sit too close to his body.

It deff looks like a male, big ol' hump, no dorsal spot. Anyhow he looks very dark. What temp are you keeping the tank? Is he takeing normal dumps? What color are they? are they nice solid turds? or is it just itty particals that eek out? Without a nice clear close up it will be much harder to diagnose any posable issue.

temp in the tank is around 77-79 degrees fairly normal, and his poo's are looking fine. Yea the pictures make him look a little darker than what he is, plus I have some black gravel mixed in so that's another reason why hes darker. As long as he continues to eat fine and poop regularly I'm not going to try and worry about it too much

Every picture you have obscures the dorsal area where a dark spot denoteing a female would be, they are obscured by your reflection and the fish is dark, so I will take your word for it that it's a male. To me it looks stressed, that might be caused just from you with the camera or somthing else it's hard to tell. The top (1st) picture looks like a sexual appendage in vent area, is that what you are refering to? The photos make it diffacult to see. If your fish is acting normal in all other repcects keep an eye on it and don't worry too much. Just keep up with normal maintanance and water changes.
