Hello! I have a white residue that collected on mainly on sides of my tank..anybody know what this could be or caused from???

Thanks for the response, sorry it's taken so long to get back..I haven't been on for a bit. I've paid close attention since and it seems it happens when they are fed live feeders, or in this last case one of them has a wound from another, but this is the first I've noticed this in all the years of keeping fish and still not sure what or why this is like this. I might add though that only in the last year I've given live treats, otherwise I've fed my fish pellets, flakes, krill, plankton, tubifex worms..etc. Here's a pic...when I originally posted this it was a lot worse. It was pretty much the whole side ( on both sides, but mostly on just the side I have pictured here). My flower horn will swim in loops along the glass and where he did that there was a somewhat clean circle on the glass..

White algae? Last I checked they were alright.

Does it get long enough to sway with the current? Is is possible that it's just a collection of the bacteria the occurs in all aquariums? I usually keep my glass clean, but I do get the white slime on the glass of my feeder tank. I have a significant amount accumulated right now as a matter of fact. I might post a pic when I get home tonight, to compare to what you've got going on.

It hasn't yet. I do a healthy cleaning every week, that includes the glass. I've always gotten the layer you seem to be talking about, but this is not what I am used to seeing..until lately.
