White sores

I have a 12 year old common pleco that has what look like sores where the fins meet the body. Almost what a scab looks like on us when we kept underwater for extended periods of time. They developed over the last couple of weeks and never seen them at any previous time. Is this an old age thing? Here are some bad pics.

I know some of my older/bigger plecs have this. As long as it doesn't look like fungus or sores it's fine.

Thanks, didn't think the pics would help but knowing other bigger and older plecos have this is good to know.
