white specks EVERYWHERE!

these white specks are all over my tank but mostly on the side closest to the window....or maybe the sun just makes them more noticable. any idea what they are?

things were a bit off balence when i checked them this morning because of some feeder minnows dying yesterday. i left them in thinking the bullheads would clean them up but they were there this morning so i cleaned them out and did a 30% water change. anyhow the test results were ammonia .5 nitrate 160ppm nitrite .5ppm hardness 100ppm alk. 100ppm and ph 7.8. acording to the booklet i got with the test the results arnt ideal but there is no strict danger currently.

ammonia .5 nitrate 160ppm, shouldnt have both those my friend.
i have the same white specs in my tank, i think they are just a form of hydra. they sway in the tank attached to the glass and plants correct?
