i hv 60 galoon tank with 4 blue acaras,2 hornet tilapias,1 texas chiclid,2 scats
white spots r only appeared in 4 blue acaras.Others r acting weird!!!.. nywz without ny reference i added salt last night..not a big amount though!... if i do the 2teaspoons per galoon salt treatment will it be too much of salt for my fishies? they look stressed :screwy:

I recommend a combo treatment

salt (1 tsp/gal) + raise temps + use Rid-Ich

I had a case run thru my discus tank, salt + higher temps no results so I added Rid-Ich. In 5days they disappeared & treated for 5more days to be sure.

I also made mistake to trf a baby koi angel to my angel tank (either it was a carrier but more likely it was from the water being trf) & one angel caught within 24hrs.

so I duplicated same treatment & successful 2nd time.

www.kensfish.com has great prices/selection/lowe shipping costs.

good luck.

Follow Sushiray's advice.

Salt + increased temperature (86 fahrenheit if your fish can tolerate it), and meds are optional (rid-ich).

salt and increased temp are tried and true ways of taking out Ich.

1 tablespoon of salt for every 5 gallons of water. Gradually raise the temp up to 86 degrees. Make sure you have proper aeration. If you don't have an air stone just lower the water in your tank so that your filter will create more surface agitation. Reduce feeding to a minimum.
