Need some help new 55 gal tank (ran it one month before stocking) bought 4 Clown Loaches and they were sick, LFS called to tell me to late. Raise Temp to 80, salted tank, no good lost 20 Neon tetras, two Bala Sharks. Started to medicate with Quick Que for five days goes away an then comes back.

Lost both Loaches today. Temp still at 80, rummy nose went down from 8 to 4 now. Went to ICK qure but no good. what the hell is this a new strain or what. No more dead all eating well. Some of my Bala sharks still have a few white spots on them????? :help2:

From my experience....

Clown Loaches get Ich like whoa when they get stressed out...

and they seem to do NOT so well when you medicate them with Rid Ich, Quick Cure or anything of that nature. Treat them as directed for scale-less fish, tetas and such if you REALLY wanna use meds.

I just use salt and raise the temp and hope for the best.
It never did spread to the rest of my fish though.

Using meds...I lost 24 baby loaches and a 5-6 inch loach that way, back in my stupid days.:)

(ok I still am. Shut up.)

son of a *****.

how much salt did you add? did the neons clearly die of the ich, or did they die with no apparent physical problems?

ugh i hate ich

Thanks to all who help meds did not do it the slow approach by rasing salt and temp worked all clean will keep temp up 24 more hrs then reduce all slowly again. I Know for myself that I was in panic mode and wanted change quickly. That 's the catch 22 move to fast kill to many fish all in all lost 32.

:swear:
