I noticed a couple days ago one of my rbd has a white spot on his eye. Anyone know what it is? Is it bad? Here are photos

looks like he injured himself what decor do you have in your tank

I just put a piece of driftwood in and there is some fake rock thing but it is rounded. Maybe part of the driftwood is too sharp?

What do I need to do for it to heal? Anything? I happened to already have salt in because another one was injured. I just got them about a week and a half ago.

mela-fix worked for me add the recommended dosage per gallons bump the tempt to 86 degrees and do small water changes daily adding back in the medication per gallon taken out during water changes oh and make sure you remove the carbon from your filter media should heal in about 4-7 days good luck

might be some sort of illness due to stress related to the move, and perhaps mini-cycle. WHat are your H2O parameters? Try some aquarium salt. Just don't leave it in. Add it in during your next PWC, then don't add any for the next several PWCs.

this happend to my tank once i did a 75% wc and added aquarium salt was cleared up in about a day and a half dont know what it is it just happend and all of the water parameters where fine hope it clears up for you like it did for me

aquarium salt promotes protective slime coat proliferation because of a change in osmolarity. If it's already in there you might need to do some PWCs, leave it a couple days, and then restart the therapy treatment. Just having higher osmolarity does not promote slime coat growth. The change in osmolarity is what does it.

I wouldn't worry too much, piranha's are very hardy fishes. Hope it gets healed soon.
