Hello all! I haven't been in here for a while so I am sorry and I miss the forum with all your crazy...fish.

I have managed to get a second job in a fish store so my hobby is going to another level.

My question is;

I have had my Oscar for about 6 + years and we have seen a lot together. One issue would be HITH. I think it is back and now affecting her eye. I noticed it yesterday.
It's a little white spot that does not look cloudy or fungal.

Our history;
She got HITH due to poor water quality this I know. I was a beginner and we both suffered. HITH has popped up now and then but I have managed to keep it controlled with weekly w/c, diet, and environment. She has been on a diet of spectrum large chiclid pellets and blood warms now and then. This diet has changed which makes me wonder if it is the cause.
I now soak her pellets in vitamin c, vita chem, manadozale(sp), blood warms and a hint of garlic. I have added vitamin c to the water in the past but this is the first time I have soaked the food in it.
I tested the water perimeters last night (weekly w/c is due tonight)
pH -- 7.6 / 7.8 (usual)
ammonia -- 0
nitrate -- 5
nitrite -- 0
So this is after a week there was no test last week to compare to.
The carbon in the filter has been in there for not even a month. I only have one filter running currently (empire 400) it has cultured purigin added and cultured carbon filter inserts. I also had a biowheel 350 with home made filter inserts but the propeller died. So I have been culturing media for spare filters to go in tonight and possible marineland c-360 install.

So I will be doing a 25%+ w/c tonight and adding melafix/premafix to the water.

I guess instead of a question I am looking for suggestions.

No pic as of now and the temp is between 78 and 80.

Look forward to hearing from everyone.
