I have had an outbreak of white spot in my big community tank. I have 2 types of treatment here for it, methylene blue, and another called rapid white spot remedy ( active constituents-formaldehyde and malachite green. Does any one know if I can use these both together?

In the proper dose, either will work. But doubling the dose by using both at once (if that's what you mean) could be dangerous. Both are toxic if over used, using too much is not better.
If you use one kind in the proper dose, and then treat a week later with the other, that is fine. It sometimes takes 2 weeks to cure anyway, because of the ich life cycle. There are stages where the ich parasite is immune to any treatment, you just need the chem in the water, for when it is vulnerable.

Thank you for your advice. This is the first time I have had to deal with it, and I have already lost 4 fish :(. Although the visable amount of white spot has reduced dramatically, some of the fish still appear to be scratching themselves. I guess I am just being a little impatient with it now.
