Here's the scoop my 300 com tank has been a little unstable the past month. As of right now filtration is a 75g sump that has 2 7" 200 micron socks n some blue bonded pads on the inlets, bio is about 15-20lbs of ceramic rings, uv sterilizer n a fx5 with sponges n about another 5-10lbs of ceramic rings. My water params are better (had a problem with nitrates) now 10~15ppm ph 6.4 nitrites 0, kh 40 n gh 180 is the general hardness too high? But the problem is that if I don't do a WC every 4 days or so these white spots that look like ick but is slightly elevated above the skin as like fungus start to pop out on the scales of my torpedo barbs n some of my loaches. Stock level I know is overstocked is 6 black bar dollars, 6 red head tapajos, 4 marbled archers, 8 torpedo barbs, 5 cories, n about 30 or so clown loaches ranging from 3-9" mostly 4-5". Could the cause be the high water hardness? Some of these "spots" almost look like patches and see that the archers are more sensitive and see a drastic lost of appetite. But once a wc is done the next day they seem like nothing happened and gained their appetite back. Want to find the problem before before I lose anything. Would appreciate any help thanks in advance!
