Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes

Hi all, need help with this, bought my flower horn on 27-Feb for 27 US dollars.. and looks like an year old (age wise). Today during routine check of my all tanks, I realised he has got some white spots.. it’s a 260 litre tank with internal power filter and a 3 inch REST + 3 BPs.

Treatment I have started is as follows - Generally without heater, water temperature stays between (78.5 to 80.6 Fh), day time it increases and night time it falls ( is this kind of fluctuations acceptable?).. but to treat white spots, I have put a heater now and set temperature to 86 Fh and put some rock salt.. I am going to do 50% water change for next 6 days and adding rock salt everytime after water change with the same water temprature. Is this fine or am missing on something else?

Heat and salt should help treat the ich.

You need to raise the salt to 3ppt and maintain for at least 10 days after ich is no longer on the fish.

You can use a salinity meter or this site to calculate how much you need. Add 1/3 dosage on first day over 8 hours, add another 1/3 dosage on 2nd day, add 1/3 dosage on 3rd day.
