Guys my Fader FH has been popping white strings. I've used Tetra Parasite Guard and I've been feeding him pellets soaked in Epsom salt. Its been almost 2 weeks and he's not getting better... What should I do?

I've had success in the past with metronidasole + nitrofurantoin + praziquantel + epsom salts in the food or for fed, as a single dose. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/fwsubwebindex/hexoctfwfs.htm

I've also had success with just epsom in the food according to RD's method : http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/threads/treating-hexamita-aka-spironucleus.339362/

Right now treating with metro + nitro + epsom, in the food for two flowerhorns (already not showing any signs of disease anymore, but i've added some fresh garlic, crushed, to suppress the taste of the meds, and they love it). The third isn't eating, so i'm force feeding it, day two now. I'll let you know how it goes.

IMO, the treatment should depend on how fast you catch the disease and how healthy the fish is.

What I've almost never had success with is metro in the water. It worked for me only once, at the doses found on wetwebmedia (see above link), but it also killed my filter and the disease returned a few months later.

Hate the sight of stringy white poop on any of my fish. Have you been feeding it frozen bloodworms? I swear, I'll never buy that stuff again...no matter how much they love it. Prevention is key.

Clean water, Epsom foods, and time. Too many meds might actually weaken them. Sounds like you have the right treatment. Keep the water clean, stress low, and wait

I'm a firm believer in feeding FH's nothing but pellets. Had a few die from bloat on a varied diet. All of mine NOW get pellets only and no problems! Well developed fish too

Yes! That is exactly where it came from I suspect!!!

Had this same problem with my buttikoferi. tried Tetra para guard(twice), didn't work. tried peas tried Epsom salt, water changes etc.. didn't work. I used Fish Bendazole , worked like a charm on the first use. Haven't had an issue since.
