i notice a white stringy substance oozing from the top of my arowana's head near the left eye, also at that same spot there is a patch of skin that is swelled up and the substance comes out of the corner of it, the fish is otherwise healthy and always hunger

he mighta jus bumped his headand what u see is his battle wound from it. if its still there in a week or 2 then be worried. but what your explaining doesn't sound regularly normal.

do a water change about one third & add some aquarium salt, and raise temperature up to 82-84

maybe it's the arowana's muscle tissue?

judging by ur description, i think its just a skin that got scraped off. no worries.
