This is ok right? I've had the pond up and running for about a year now, and I want to say perhaps about 6 months ago, the black liner started getting this white substance on it-it scrapes off-I'm assumming this is similar if not the same thing to the white stuff that bulids up on the rubber fittings that come with fulval canisters that are submerged in the tanks?
Just want to have one less thing to worry about lol!!!
Thanks in advance guys!
btw my pond is covered (to keep a lot of the humidity in)-not sure if this makes a difference or not..

Government has always added chemicals to your water... just a little more lately. Could be Lithium.:headbang2

Nah just kidding I get the same thing, Kinnda white with a light shine and chalky feel? I think it means your tap water sucks or something.

yes, it was kinda chalky when I scraped it off...is this something that I should really be concerned with or what? I have my rays in there, and I want to be positive that is not harming them
any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
thanks

calcium deposits.

I have hard Chicago tap and if I move around boulders in my pond, there is the same white/chalky deposits behind them on the liner.
