I bought a log and put it in a cycling tank. I left for DC the next day and left my family to feed the fish. there were no fish and no heater in the tank. I come back a week later and there is white stuff all over the log. 
air bubbles in the stuff were also present as well as snails on the glass. can some one please tell me what this and and help me fix it?
