i bought a big peice of drift wood from my lfs i soaked it for 4 days until the tea colored water was clear. anyway there is like white hairy fuzzy slimely stuff growing on some parts of it its weird what can it be & its only on that..

Im not sure about that, I have that problem too, white slime on my driftwood, suction cups. But I notice that Apple snails munch on those stuff as I place my apple snails in the tank, they head for the suction cups and in a few minute, the suction cups were rid of them. I tried placing them on the driftwood, the next day, the slimes were gone. I don't think they would affect the fish in a bad way as I have them in the tank for like 1 month before i added apple snails. Honestly speaking, I don't even know the apple snails would munch on the slime

my red devil would eat the snails lol i cant put no fish with him he is crazy he bit me atwice in a week..

Well i guess the only way to remove them is by hand (good luck with that ) Or just leave it, if you are not really that much into appearance of the tank.

my guess is some kind of fungus in the wood i have had it show up on different piece when first put in the tank. i just siphon it off as i clean the tank and it seams to go away with time.

if the piece is small enough or you have a big enough pot boil it for a bit that will kill everything.

ok thanks..

well i boiled it and its gone . yippy lol. thanks guys & gals ;)

boiling will work but it may come back. it's harmless and will disappear in time. my bn pleco took care of it on my wood. yes, it's unsightly, and you can use a toothbrush to clean it up, but it won't harm anything.
